Why waterfront excavation is different
Cottage lots on the Kawartha lakes rarely behave like a flat city build. You are usually dealing with bedrock close to the surface, a lot that slopes toward the water, a high water table near shore, and a driveway too narrow for a full-size machine. On top of that, shoreline work is environmentally sensitive and may involve conservation authority rules in addition to the municipal by-law. We plan around all of it.
