What is utility trenching?
Utility trenching is the digging of narrow, controlled trenches for water lines, hydro, septic runs, weeping tile, and other services. The trench has to be the right depth and grade, safely cut, and backfilled and compacted so the ground does not settle later. We trench for new builds, service upgrades, and drainage repairs across Peterborough and the Kawarthas.

How much does trenching cost?
Trenching is priced by length, depth, and ground conditions, with machine-and-operator time running $50 to $150 per hour. Rock and tight access in the Kawarthas can add time, which we account for in the quote. See the cost guide.
